That's funny, just the other day I was joking to someone that I was convinced
(I use that word gratuitously) that the song was all about the movie Running
Man. (The Butcher of Bakersfield was what they called him). That and the
line 'I wanna be your top eliminator'. But frankly, I really haven't listened
to the song that closely (it doesn't really do anything for me) and I don't
really know the movie all that well either. Oh ah.

I take it this song is about the joint in Los Osos?

Someone earlier mentioned that they thought the third verse was forced. I
re-listened and I'd sort of agree, although I'm not really sure what it means,
and it seems like more of a break than a verse cos it's only two lines, and
I can forgive a break lyric that I don't understand (see Nothing Special &
neighbors)

Let's see, Sweetwater about a place in Los Osos. Bakersfield. Pineapple tuesday about driving in LA (Venice, if that's the same Beethoven street I know).
Any more songs that mention places in California? Oh yeah, Hysteria--San Francisco.
