The Jazz Butcher
The Jazz Butcher Lyrics Lulu's Nightmare

Lyrics

Lulu's Nightmare
cigarettes, beer, ticket, money.
what could possibly go wrong?

from Chicago to Atlanta
and then up to New York City
then to London where I fall on a train
with a body full of someone else's air
I wake up hurting
and it's probably Northampton again

and Lulu's waiting on the line
and Lulu says to come on over
Lulu says we'll have a real good time
together

there was a chicken smoking ganja
I'm not sure if someone ate him
but at least I got a photograph first
now there's a boat here and I'm on it
so I guess that I'm alright
though I seem to have this terrible thirst

and things may come
and things may go
but Lulu's parties go on forever
Lulu says we had a real good time
together

(ace odd noises)
...you're under arrest...
...help me...

and things may come
and things may go
but Lulu's parties go on forever
Lulu says we'll have a real good time
but I'm not so together

things may come
and things may go
but Lulu's parties go on forever
Lulu says we have a real good time
together

(help me...)

Illuminate
1994 live line-up stumbled through a series of tunes and such under Butcher's direction, aided and abetted by a number of the usual suspects; Alex Lee on guitar, Alex Green on saxes, that sort of thing.

Lulu, if you were wondering is the jbc's french connection.
He arranges gigs for them over there, a nice man by all accounts!

As I am currently sharing a house with Gabriel Turner I asked him a little more...

Lulu is a school teacher in france somewhere, the JBC have played a gig there no less (hundreds of screaming schoolkids!) Pat was also the best man at Lulu's wedding (This is what Lulu's Nightmare is about, apparently. Both Pat and Lulu were ever so slightly drunk for the ceremony, which happened the next day to finishing a tour in the states!)
