I'd have to disagree with you on this point. Digital Video is now used by more professionals than Beta SP (Beta is still the choice for broadcast news, but that is a Union thing...). A quality DV camera can cost as much as $25,000 or more, not quite the realm of kids and their iMac. Even a low end $1000 DV camera may be better than broadcast quality Beta tape.
