LA JBC accomodations

Ok, I really must go see the JBC at the Troubador next month. After driving up to LA (I live in San Diego) by my lonesome in June to see a show (a fantastic Tom Waits show) I swore I wouldn't make the drive solo again. But here I am again. So a few questions: 1) I've tracked down a B and B in Hollywood that I could presumably get a room for $65 --- is that about as good a deal as I can expect to get? Or does anyone know of a decent but in that price range place in West Hollywood to stay? 2) Are some people from the list getting together somewhere for drinks? and 3) Is anyone else from San Diego going up and could spare room for an extra passenger or possibly I could drive and use a rider?
