Making sampler tapes -- or, indeed, whole copies -- of RECORDS YOU ALREADY OWN for YOUR OWN USE -- is wholly legal. Sony's not hypocritical, 'leastways not on this front.

And to anyone who thinks I'm too spooked by authority: Let's just say that a smart pot smoker doesn't make arrangements with ol' Dimebag Dennis 'round the corner by cordless phone, if you know what I mean.
