old vs. new

Really the whole debate is, well, irrelevant. Comparing the older albums with the newer is an apples to oranges debates. Different times, different attitudes, different sentiments expressed. Sure the old stuff was great, but I don't think there are many of us that would have liked fifteen years worth of Caroline Wheeler's, etc. The JBC had to grow.

That said, I feel compelled to come to the defense of "Waiting for the Love Bus" and "Condition Blue". Both albums contain quite a bit of high quality pop. "Whattaya?" is one of those songs that, after having first heard it, I listened to over and over.I think both of these albums outshine "Illuminate".
