(a) Mr Norris: from the title of Christopher Isherwood's 1930s novel Mr
Norris Changes Trains. I've not read it but I think it's set in Berlin.
(b) I think John Rivers also produced the Chesterfields, an average
jangly band of the mid to late 80s, best known for their parochial
classic Last Train to Yeovil.
