ROBOTIC ENGLISH TRANSLATION

FROM ROCK TO CURIE SQUASH

It’s a blast with the band "The Jazz Butcher"!

"The Jazz Butcher" backstage at the theater: not a sad band

This is called a P.A.E (Educational Action Project) in the school environment, and it can sometimes lead, as it did last Tuesday at the municipal theater, to the arrival of a British music group. "The Jazz Butcher," literally "the butchers of jazz," who are not unknown in the rock world, landed in France at the invitation of Pierre and Marie Curie College for a unique concert as a prelude to their European tour.

Incredible, isn’t it? Even though for most people in Pont-Audemer, "The Jazz Butcher" has never reached the fame of Michel Sardou or Jacques Brel, it was a mini-event in the tanning city.

In fact, the English band was there to celebrate the release of their tenth album, "Illuminate," performing for an audience of 650 enthusiastic students and a few guests. All of this was thanks to Mr. Leroux, an education advisor and photographer in his spare time, as he managed to pull off this feat by collaborating on some of the British band's album covers.

And what about the educational project, you might ask? It was indeed present for several months, as the English teachers at the college had worked with the students on the band’s lyrics. And not just to sing them in unison on the day of the concert!

Moreover, in the entrance hall of the establishment, a photography exhibition by Lucien Borderline was showcased on the theme of "jazz butcher."

Organized by the socio-educational center, this afternoon also gave a chance to a Rouen-based group, "Candy Lies," as the opening act. With "The Jazz Butcher," straddling the line between the Velvet Underground and prehistoric Memphis soul music, the theater resonated. In every sense of the word...

The Curie students enjoyed this recreational afternoon.
