JBC Cover Convergence

"Full respek" [sic], to quote the over-quoted Ali G, to Northwest Airlines.
How excellent are they? Let me share this: I was plugging into Northwest
Airlines inflight audio and was happily surprised to encounter the VU's
"Sweet Jane" and Jonathan Richmond's "Roadrunner" on the May 2003 play list.
That's a big trade up from the usual airplane fare of Shakira et al. So
that's good. The extra thrill then came when I switched channels and
discovered the JBC's cover of "Everybody's Talking" on the next play list.
Pretty cool convergence of JBC covers with the men themselves. I would have
recommended some original JBC material if the NW radio guy had consulted me
(I think maybe "Swell", "Niagra", or "Girlfriend"), but hey, even a cover by
the JBC beats the crap out of having to endure the torture of Fleetwood Mac,
so I didn't file a formal complaint. Other surprisingly hip NW music
featured Gang of Four ("Damaged Goods"), a bit of Ben Harper and some Jack
Johnson.
