You are venturing into territory that will undoubtedly set this list
aflame. Certainly you realize the JBC have been around nearly as
long as the Femmes. Personally I think Gano and co. have made a
nice transition from adolescent folk-rockers to middle-age folk rockers.
Your comparison to the Pistols is way off the mark. The Femmes
have been a group on and off (mostly on) for the last 20 years (again,
very much like the JBC). The Pistols were a feat of contrived media
engineering from the very beginning (not that there's anything wrong
with that). I'd buy tickets to a JBC/VF show in a second. Thrown in
CVB and it might just be a perfect evening.
