conspiracy...

How did I end up on THIS mailing list? I used to get such nice e-mails about a band I liked...

I'm very much afraid of how people are using this whole thing to their own advantage, not only politicians (suddenly all the other problems disappear and any dissident voice is a 'terrorist-supporter'), the media ("You are in great danger! Tune in for special continuing coverage of the war and Anthrax attacks"), corporations (General Dynamics to name one) but also the lunatic fringe (whatreallyhappened.com). To cite sources like the New York Times while at the same time claiming there's a big media conspiracy afoot makes me wonder what else someone could prove by looking deeply enough into the media. Journalists are willing to report anything at a time like this without bothering to check out accuracy (either from the government or from crackpots) so it's no wonder that there's so much contradictary evidence, but everyone should remember Pierre Salinger's press conference a few years back--even an old pro can be suckered by these jokers. And, hey, here's a surprise--the Jews and the CIA did it! Good lord, haven't we had enough of this? Looking through that website, did anything ever happen without CIA intervention? And if so, why are these people allowed to post this information without being sucked into black helicopters and put away somewhere? The truth is, if there really was a conspiracy, it wouldn't appear in any media... you never know when censorship works!
