Bedeviled by Angels

They'll call me a heretic, but the song "Angels" makes me gag. "International caller...on my line...." yeah, yeah, that's a neat start, but it's downhill FAST from there. There's something so adolescently CORNY about that song. It's MUCH too syrupy. Compare to "Only A Rumour," which is also dangerously cloying but keeps a certain edge.

Is there ANYONE else out there who doesn't like "Angels?" Please, I need to know I have an ally or two before they string me up. I'll take "The Good Ones," "Suzie," "...Curtains Closed" or the great "Racheland" any day if I'm in the mood for something sweet.

As for a writer's dislike of "Burglar of Love," I too couldn't stand that song until one day I got hooked on the rappy little, "Burglary and the JBC..." part in the middle. Then, I noticed if you crank up the volume and give it a chance, the song fairly well rocks. Never a classic, but a good hard OTR breather.
