[JBC] _Acoustic Attitude_
Date: Thu 05 Jul 2001 - 13:12:34 PDT
Hello folks,
could somebody who will have a chat with Pat in the next days do fellow fans in Germany a favour and ask if any unofficial show is planned in Hamburg before / after playing the festival on August, 12 ?
As loyal fans most of us will of course attend the official show even though I'm certainly not the only one who is not fond of outdoor festivals. In fact, as of now, I'll most likely return from my holidays in Sweden that day only to see the show. However, the _Worst Case Scenario_ is that they'll play during daylight (most likely) "In The 'Rain'" (not too unlikely) to some old fans, hopefully some newly (to-be-)acquired fans and probably a lot of people who couldn't care less, which is not exactly my idea of a worthy show for The Jazz Butcher Conspiracy.
Maybe they / he could play a(n acoustic) show at a place such as Schilleroper, Golden Pudel Klub, Hafenklang, Astra-Stube or an instore acoustic show at Michelle Records. It would most likely also be an incentive for more people to travel long distances for a weekend in Hamburg.
Thanks for anyone's troubles and reply in advance.
On a completely different note, let it be known that the _Suburban Light_ CD
by The Clientele (London/UK) has been released on Merge Records in the US of
A several weeks ago. If you have a place in your heart for P!O!P! combos
like The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band, The Velvet Underground,
Galaxie 500, Felt or Dave Kusworth (The Jacobites) you'll find yourself a
new Love (the misspelling is, of course, deliberate). Extraordinary,
heartfelt, intimate and most touching music for candlelight evenings.
Soundfiles are available at
http://www.theclientele.co.uk/New%20Pages/sounds.html (personal favourites
include "We Could Walk Together", "Lacewings" and "Reflections After Jane").
"Trust Me, You'll Never Find Me Begging" (The Brilliant Corners)

And also on the unjust fella
But more upon the just because
The unjust steals the just's umbrella
