Velvel Update

Well, I got word that we may have a new friend on the inside at Velvel, but I'm waiting to hear back. New speculation is that while Velvel may have rights to the JBC titles, the fact that Fire has done nothing with them may be a real impediment to Velvel doing anything--that is, Velvel only seems to be releasing stuff that Fire is re-releasing, and the JBC does not seem to be on Fire's short list. This is not to say that it won't happen, but it may take more doing.

The petition is closing in on 250 names, FWIW, and should actually be seen by Velvel as a positive publicity tool--"Fans petition for new Velvel release" type stuff (such as the internet-based stink over the cancellation of the TV show "My So Called Life" which managed to get it back on the air briefly, but failed to result in a second season). So, why not sign the petition if you haven't yet?
