Look, We've got to face it. We live in a consumerist society. We all do things day-to-day that we may find distasteful(on a bunch of levels). I'm not going to begrude Stan for getting what he can for his stuff, I mean it is his. I'm also willing to pay what I can to get a better collection of this cultural kibble we're all here to mindlessly adore, to wit: the JBC. I'm centainly not going to resent anyone who can afford to get that copy of Gift Of Music. Well maybe a little :^)

Yet, I'm also here to help anyone I can to get as much of the JBC's music as I can. If someone want's something, I'm happy to make a copy or buy one for them, whatever. -(copyright issues deleted for lack of space)- I can name at least three people in the last five years who I've turned into JBC/Sumo fans. At least one of those has purchased at least as much JBC stuff as me!

I guess basically, who cares? This is all a tempest in a teapot. I just don't see making Stan pay for holding an auction. If the auction wasn't quite professional, maybe it was because he's not an auctioneer. Nor making those who bid on items feel like suckers or that they've betrayed Pat. I also think that _all_ suggestions about how the auction might be have been run, and how auctions could be run in the future be taken seriously. Personally, I'm looking forward to my concert and compilation tapes from the main auction!

"Think of what would happen if they all got mad, turned around and beat you up and treated you bad...."

Surprisingly tasty,
