Hello and other stuff

My name is Hank Tomczak and I've posted a few times to the list but most of my time is spent lurking. I've been a fan of the JBC since I first heard "Carolime Wheeler's Birthday Present" on the NYU college radio station back in 1984-85. I've only seen the Butcher once and I didn't realize it at the time but according to the gig list it was the first JBC show in the US at Maxwells in Hoboken, NJ in 1986! I was quite buzzed and don't remember much about the show. Maxwells is an amazing place though, and I've seen the Feelies and Yo La Tengo (hands down the best bands Jersey ever produced) there as well. I see from Poisoned Ed's survey that I'm possibly the oldest fan on the list ( will turn 41 next week) and if so I'll consider it an honor.

I've been playing guitar for 20 years and have also been disapointed with the lack of JBC tab/chord available on the web (namely none). I also VERY lazy when it comes to posting but I don't want to see Will Nerini have to do all the work so I'm going to start posting some as soon as I can, I'll have one posted by the end of the week, promise! Don't expect to seen Max's amazing solos tabbed out (after 20 years I still can't play anywhere like him) but I'll do my best and maybe between us we can get a bunch going. David, is it possible, (and also if Pat doesn't mind) to put up the tabs on the web page?

I hope the recent gig gives Pat and Max a reason to do a few more tour dates. At any rate, the vibes from the gig seem to be causing a rash of JBC finds as of late. I had a decent one myself just last week, a still sealed copy of Big Questions LP with the May I bonus EP! Best part it was only four dollars.

Well, enough for now, Hank Received on Mon Sep 29 10:21:34 1997
