I took my sister along to one of the last gigs upstairs at the Garage, and though she was familiar with the early stuff--this will only make sense to residents of Buckinghamshire--she took 'Bakersfield' to be saying 'I want to take you to Beaconsfield', a sleepy market town in the leafy Chilterns.
